Baltimore Orioles sign former Toronto Blue Jays left-hander

It was announced the Baltimore Orioles have signed the left-handed relief pitcher to a major league deal. While terms of the contract were not disclosed, Walker was set to make the pro-rated league minimum as a pre-arbitration player.

Additionally, Walker was already in the Orioles organization; Baltimore had picked him up on a waiver claim in August following the lefty's release from the Philadelphia Phillies

The move is likely because Baltimore wants to exert a little more control over their services and had done similar deals with other relievers in the past.

Although 30 years old, Walker has seen limited action in his big league career, appearing in just 27 games over the past three seasons. While the majority of his time in the bigs has come as a member of the New York Mets, he did get into three games in 2025 while a member of the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays signed Walker to a one-year $760K contract in December of 2024. Although he started the season in Triple-A Buffalo, he was called upon early in the year. He appeared in three games with an ERA of 7.20 before designated for assignment.

The Orioles were actually Walker's third team of 2025. After being DFA'd by Toronto, he was traded to the Phillies for cash and appeared in 23 games at the minor league level.

Now, he is in a position to break camp with the team in 2026.
