The Toronto Blue Jays announce 16 non-roster invites to spring training.

With their first spring training game less than a month away, the Toronto Blue Jays officially invited 16 internal non-roster players to join them in Dunedin, Fla., on Thursday.
The following players received an invite:
RHP Lazaro Estrada
RHP Braydon Fisher
LHP Mason Fluharty
RHP Ryan Jennings
RHP Hayden Juenger
C Phil Clarke
C Andres Sosa
C Jacob Sharp
INF Riley Tirotta
INF Rainer Nunez
INF Josh Kasevich
INF Charles McAdoo
INF Eddinson Paulino
OF Alan Roden
OF RJ Schreck
OF Myles Straw
I, and many others think the most intriguing name on this list is Roden.
Get used to hearing Alan Roden's name.
The 25-year-old outfielder is an on-base machine, beloved by coaches in the Minors, and he should have a legitimate opportunity to earn MLB reps by the middle of 2025, if not sooner.
Roden, Toronto's No. 12 prospect per MLB Pipeline, performed well in 71 games at Triple-A after his promotion last summer, hitting .314 with a .406 OBP, and while he's not a slugger by any definition, he's slowly growing into enough power to make pitchers take that part of his game seriously.

There's a reason Roden's name comes up so often when speaking with members of the front office or Blue Jays coaches.
In 125 total games at Double-A New Hampshire and Buffalo, Roden hit .293/.391/.475 with 16 home runs and 14 stolen bases.
The next name on this list to watch is Josh Kasevich.
Kasevich is in a similar boat to Roden, as both were drafted early in the 2022 draft out of college. Kasevich had a solid 2024 season, slashing .296/.348/.385 with six home runs in 566 plate appearances with the Buffalo Bisons and New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
The obvious name to watch on this list is Myles Straw.
Straw is the only non-prospect invited to the camp whom the Jays acquired from the Cleveland Guardians on January 17th.
Straw is a good bet to be on the Blue Jays roster in some capacity next season, as the 30-year-old provides tremendous speed and excellent outfield defence, while the bat is very light.
His career-best year was in 2021, where he slashed .271/.349/.348 with four home runs in 638 for a 98 wRC+ and a 3 fWAR.
The Blue Jays will open camp with pitchers and catchers reporting on Feb. 13th, while the full roster will clock in on Feb. 18th.
Their first spring training matchup is set with the New York Yankees on the afternoon of Feb. 22nd.
