The 2025 World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers is shaping up to be a record setting event.

Through five games, this year's edition of the Fall Classic is setting all kinds of records.
Through four games, the series has an average of 19.5 million viewers in U.S and Canada combined, up 23% from last year's addition. Game 4 itself had 21.3 Million viewers between the two countries, an increase of 21% from 2024.
Wild that last year's World Series was Yankees-Dodgers and yet ratings are way *up* this year 👀
Then there was Game 5. SportsNet, which airs Toronto Blue Jays games in Canada, saw an average of 7.2 Million viewers. That represents the most-watched Blue Jays game in network history, with over one in every six Canadians - just under 18% - watching the game.
Those kinds of numbers are generally reserved for the latter stages of the NFL Playoffs, including the Super Bowl
The previous record was Game 4, which had an average viewership of 6.2 Million.
None of these figures including data from Japan, which is sure to watching in droves as well due to the Dodgers having three star pitchers.
The numbers shouldn't be that surprising. Canada has coalesced around the Blue Jays, galvanized by their chance at greatness.
Interestingly enough, FOX Sports averaged 14.8 Million viewers for Game 4, which is actually down 11% from last year.

World Series Game at Rogers Centre 6 figures to have even higher numbers

Game 5 of the #WorldSeries is now the most-watched Blue Jays game EVER with an average audience of 7.2 million viewers on Sportsnet.

I have a feeling tonight's game will surpass this 😬
With the World Series now back on Canadian soil, and with the Blue Jays on the cusp of victory, it's likely that Game 6 could break Game 5's viewership numbers. Ditto for a potential Game 7.
Whatever happens one thing is clear: the world is watching.
