Sports fandom is at all time low. Not in terms of attendance, though that can be an issue, but rather in terms of behaviour.

Just look at the Blue Jays social media as evidence.
While the offseason was riddled with posts and comments about how the Blue Jays front office is the worst in franchise, that doesn't come close to what is happening in the days since Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s extension window.
Every other post or comment on Blue Jays social media is either SIGN VLADDY or FIRE ATKINS, in some form.
Even on posts that have nothing to with either.
Recently, on instagram, the Blue Jays posted some highlights celebrating their 6-4 win over the New York Yankees and a good section of Blue Jays fans made it clear that they no longer care about the team winning.
Fire Atlkins, sign Vladdy read one.
We don't care, sign Vladdy read another.
No Vladdy, no party, wrote another.
Fan base loses read another.
The Blue Jays aren't the only victims of this, as bitter and negative fans are emblematic of a wider problem in both fan culture and the sports world, it is nonetheless discouraging to see, hear, and read.
At this point, the Blue Jays could go undefeated and win the World Series and fans would still complain.
While the problem won't go away anytime soon, if the Blue Jays have a successful 2025, it might at least calm the negative tide of comments.
