One thing the Blue Jays are very good at doing is collaborating and growing their fan base; bringing other people into their circle. The latest person to enter the Blue Jays orbit is country superstar Riley Green.

Green was recently in Toronto for a show and decided to try and take some swings at Rogers Centre. He didn't come alone though. Most music A-listers have a posse and Green was no different. Accompanying him for his big day were Ella Longley, Erik Dylan, and Jake Worthington.
For those not in the know, Green is an award-winning country singer with three full-length albums out and who has worked with such musicians as Luke Combs and Thomas Rhett.
Turns out he can hit a baseball as well.
After the tryout, Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro could be seen walking up to Green and mouthing "you can rake". Maybe he can be the team's new designated hitter.
It wasn't just hitting that Green and Co. got up to. They tried on gloves, played some catch, all the usual warm-ups. But Green seemed to enjoy hitting the most. He was extolling the credentials of the black magic bat, which according to him, can be bought for $28 at Wal-Mart.
Worthington and Longley also had decent swing techniques, though their throwing mechanisms could use some work.
After imagining a second life as a professional baseball player, Green took to the stage and played a sold out show.
It's nice to friends all around. And it's something the Blue Jays are very good at.
