Sportsnet's Blue Jays Central host Jamie Campbell responds to Yes Network's Yankees play-by-play man Michael Kay's comments the only way he knows how, with respect and kindness.
I should point out that I have always had great respect for Mr. Kay. That's a tough market, and he's endured. We haven't been able to say «first place» around here for a while. Just having a little fun!
One fan wasn't happy with Campbell's attempt to kill Kay with kindness and interpreted it as an apology.

To which Campbell quipped back that it definitely was not an apology.

Another fan interpreted it as an apology as well suggesting there was no need for Campbell to apologize.

This fan proclaimed that Campbell has more character than Michael Kay and stated his personal displeasure for the Yankees play-by-play man.

Jamie, as always, you bring class to your reporting. You were right to correct him. Kay's take is illogical - the team that has found a way to win more games than run differential suggests they should is more of a first place team than a team that loses more than they should.🐦💙

Brother, as a Yankee Fan you know, if his skin is so thin that he had to go on-air to "explain" what he meant then he needs to toughen up.

Jamie Campbell's response speaks volumes on the level class he has compared to most media personalities. Michael Kay concurred with my opinion of Campbell's character as I wrote this article.
Jamie, you are all class. Hopefully, we will get a chance to chat in a couple of weeks.
