Blue Jays' Louis Varland reveals he was ready to throw down in World Series brawl

With the Blue Jays leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning during game 7 of the World Series, Dodgers pitcher Justin Wrobleski nearly hit Andres Gimenez before Wrobleski hit him on the hand.

The third-straight throw that either hit or came near the Toronto shortstop, and it didn't sit well.

As Gimenez was starting his walk to first base, a few choice words were exchanged between the Blue Jays shortstop and Wrobleski before both benches emptied, and players from both teams flooded onto the field.

In an interview with Lindsay Dunn, Varland's wrestling background was brought up, and was asked if he'd ever thought about using his wrestling moves on his teammates or in a baseball scenario.

After the laughing subdued, Dunn then asked Varland if he would do that to her co-host and former Blue Jay Whit Merrifield next time he sees him at the ballpark.

Ultimately no ejections came from the Game 7 incident. The following batter, George Springer, hit a line drive back up the middle that hit Wrobleski in the left leg, much to the delight of the fans at Rogers Centre. Wrobleski was briefly evaluated by a team trainer but remained in the game.

As dramatic as this World Series was, it didn't really have any hint of animosity between the two teams. Until Game 7.
