Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider gives latest rehab update on outfielder George Springer.

Fans hoping to see George Springer take a step toward returning to the Toronto Blue Jays lineup may have to wait a bit longer.
After the Blue Jays thumped the Rockies 20-1, the biggest question asked by the media in the post game presser was, how is George Springer?
George Springer will go through testing again today, to see if he can get cleared to start a rehab assignment tonight in AAA. Andrés Giménez went 0/3 with 1 RBI on rehab last night. Probably needs 20 at-bats Schneider said, so could rejoin Blue Jays in Toronto next week.
The outfielder was sent down to triple-A earlier in the week in order to rehab from a concussion he suffered last month, but was not in the Buffalo Bisons' lineup on Wednesday.
George Springer played pepper with this area beyond LF as he gets closer to a potential ML injury rehab assignment with the #Bisons. One or two homers went off the truck and concession stand.
Springer sustained the injury on July 29 against the Baltimore Orioles after being hit in the helmet by a fastball from reliever Kade Strowd and was then retroactively placed on the seven-day injured list by the team.
The 35-year-old former World Series champion leads the Blue Jays with 18 home runs, 12 stolen bases and an .889 OPS this season.
Meanwhile, Andres Gimenez, who was also sent down to triple-A to rehab an injury, was active for the Bisons on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old was placed on the 10-day IL on July 5th due to a left ankle sprain.
The three-time Gold Glove winner was cleared to begin running the bases on Friday, and all appears to have checked out as the slick-fielding middle infielder was given the green light to begin his rehab assignment.
Gimenez has played in just 61 games for Toronto this season, his first with the club since being acquired in a deal from the Cleveland Guardians over the winter, and is slashing .218/.300/.322 with five home runs, 23 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
