Today MLB Network's Jon Morosi reports that the Blue Jays, Marlins and Tigers are all involved in the Fairbanks market, and that a deal could get done as early as Monday.
The Blue Jays, Marlins, and Tigers are all involved in the Pete Fairbanks market. Fairbanks could sign before the winter meetings begin on Monday.
The relief pitching market is moving quickly with It's the latest in a string of relief signings that also includes deals for Ryan Helsley, Raisel Iglesias, and Phil Maton.
With three impact closers already off the board and a number of teams (including the Blue Jays) known to be looking for relief help this winter, that can only be good news for the remaining high-leverage relief arms on the market.
So it's understandable why the Blue Jays might want to act before the winter meetings on Monday before the top end relievers get scooped up.
