Blue Jays sign two more right-handed pitchers

The Toronto Blue Jays continue to fill out their low-end depth pieces and think about the future. The team's transaction page indicates the signings of right handed pitchers Bryan Borbon and Rodrigo Ramirez.
Both were assigned to DSL Blue Jays 2 in the Dominican Summer League. Both are also currently on the restricted list as they await visa issues and age limits.
Ramirez comes from Valera, Venezuela, while Borbon joins the team from Ciudad Obregon in Mexico. Borbon does not appear to be related to former Blue Jays reliever Pedro Borbon Jr. or his father, former major leaguer Pedro Borbon Sr., as they both came from the Dominican Republic.
AQ Agency, which is a baseball academy based in Maracay, also made note of Ramirez' signing.
Ramirez is a big guy. Only 18, he is already 6'6 and tops the scale at 205lbs. He will certainly be an opposing figure on the mound, especially if he grows another couple of inches.
Borbon is a bit smaller and stockier, coming in at 6'0, with a weight of 207lbs. He feels more like a back end starter.
These two signings continue the Blue Jays trend of low cost Caribbean and Latin American prospects that they can use to pepper and fill out the roster of their two Dominican Summer League Teams.
Still both teenagers, Borbon and Ramirez are likely several years away from the major leagues and even a couple of years from Dunedin and/or Vancouver.
Many international signings never make it to the majors, but at roughly $10 000 per prospect, it's a low-risk, high-potential signing that can have a big payoff.
