Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr receives hometown hero's welcome in Dominican Republic

Vlad Jr. had a postseason performance for the ages.
His eight home runs were the most by a Blue Jays batter in a single postseason, surpassing greats like Jose Bautista and Joe Carter.
The 29 hits he registered ranked second all-time in MLB postseason history.
He also became the first player to hit a grand slam in Blue Jays' postseason history during the ALDS.

It certainly didn't go unnoticed in his hometown of Don Gregorio, Dominican Republic.
Fans from his hometown poured into the streets to celebrate Guerrero Jr. with a massive parade on Friday.

The five-time All-Star was born in Montreal Canada, but moved to Don Gregorio Dominican Republic with his mother Riquelma Ramos shortly after his father moved to California.
He spent the majority of his childhood there where he was trained by his uncle (former Montreal Expo) Wilton Guerrero.
The celebration for Guerrero Jr. finishes off an emotional last two months for the All-Star first baseman.
