The Toronto Blue Jays’ 2025 season was defined by a deep postseason run, and few players loomed larger than first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
At just 26 years old, Vladimir Guerrero Jr delivered a dominant performance during Toronto’s march to the World Series.
Across 18 playoff games, he hit an eye-popping .397 with a .494 on-base percentage and a 1.289 OPS, while adding eight home runs and 15 RBIs.
Though the season ultimately ended short of a championship, Guerrero’s impact was undeniable.
The face of the franchise remains firmly in place for the long haul, having signed a massive 14-year, $500 million extension that kicks in this season.
With that commitment secured, Guerrero will have plenty of chances to guide the Toronto Blue Jays on another deep postseason run.
Already one of the game’s most accomplished young stars, Guerrero has built an impressive résumé through seven MLB seasons, earning five All-Star selections, two Silver Slugger awards, and a Gold Glove.
Before turning his focus fully to spring training, Guerrero is set to represent Team Dominican Republic at the World Baseball Classic in March.
Rather than reporting to camp immediately, he’ll take the international stage as he prepares for another demanding season.
As the tournament approaches, it’s clear Guerrero has dedicated the offseason to getting into elite shape.

On Monday, he shared a seven-week body transformation on social media, posting before-and-after photos that highlighted noticeable gains in muscle and overall conditioning.
For the Blue Jays, the update offered another encouraging sign as they aim to build on last year’s success.
Guerrero’s renewed focus on fitness, paired with his elite offensive ability, once again positions him as the focal point of a roster with championship aspirations in 2026.
Beyond the physical changes, Guerrero’s continued development as a leader has become increasingly vital for a team built around a young core.
His commitment to preparation and consistency throughout the grind of the season has set the tone in the clubhouse.
Guerrero will also look to ensure the transformation translates at the plate.
During the 2025 regular season, he posted a .292 average, a .381 on-base percentage, and an .848 OPS, while tallying 23 home runs and 84 RBIs over 156 games.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the No. 5 first baseman on @MLBNow's #Top10RightNow.
Toronto’s front office has made additional moves this winter, adding depth and experience around its franchise star to support another postseason push.
With reinforcements across the lineup and pitching staff, Guerrero enters 2026 with a stronger supporting cast, and a clearer path to sustaining the momentum from last year’s run.
