Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr is under increased pressure as he's been slumping heading into the postseason.

No player is wearing the mounting losses more than Vlad Jr., the face of the franchise who is now under increased scrutiny with every miserable at-bat.
To put it mildly, he's been scuffling.
Longest streak of homerless games - Season in Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s career:
27- Aug 23-Sep 27, 2019
21- Apr 12-May 4, 2024
19- Jun 6-28, 2019
18- Mar 27-Apr 5, 2025
17- Sep 6-present (Via another of 0 in a 7-1 #BlueJays loss vs BOS tonight)
16- Jun 5-21, 2023
16- Aug 5-24, 2023
His frustration finally got the better of him when he was tossed from the game following a called third strike to lead off the seventh inning.
Replays clearly showed the baseball catching a bit of the strike zone. Guerrero objected and was summarily tossed.
His night began on a soft groundout en route to an 0-for-3 night at the plate.
No one is missing Bo Bichette's presence more than Vladdy, who needs to step up and handle the pressure more effectively.
"He's not being the man when they desperately need him to be."

Vladimir Guerrero Jr needs to show up in the postseason, the playoffs haven't been kind to him in the past

While Guerrero Jr. is a talented and beloved player in Toronto, he hasn't produced in the postseason, hitting just .136 with one RBI in 25 at-bats in six playoff games.
With the Blue Jays going to the 2025 postseason, Guerrero Jr. will have to overcome his playoff struggles and show why the Blue Jays signed him long-term.
Guerrero Jr.'s postseason struggles have been a contributing factor as to why the Blue Jays have yet to win a playoff game since Game 4 of the 2016 ALCS.
It all started in 2020 in Guerrero Jr.'s second year in the MLB.
The Blue Jays were swept in the 2020 AL Wild Card series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
In 2022, the Blue Jays were swept in the Wild Card series at home against the Seattle Mariners.
In 2023, the Blue Jays were swept in the Wild Card series against the Minnesota Twins.
Guerrero Jr. became an All-Star for the fifth time in 2025 and he has had a solid season.
Guerrero Jr. has hit 23 home runs and driven in 83 runs. But now the Blue Jays will be relying on Guerrero Jr. to carry his solid regular season into the postseason.
While a spot in the postseason is clinched, the Blue Jays can not only clinch the AL East, but also the best record in the AL.
Six games remain on the schedule at home with three games each against the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays.
