The Chicago White Sox have released former Toronto Blue Jays left-handed reliever Ryan Borucki.

The Chicago White Sox have trimmed four more from their spring roster, per the team.
Chicago announced that left-hander Ryan Borucki, was released along with first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr., and right-handers Austin Voth and Lucas Sims have.
All four players had been in camp on minor league deals with invitations to spring training and are now free agents, eligible to sign with any team.

Borucki look to catch on with a club in need of left-handed bullpen depth

Borucki, who turns 32 later this month, has appeared in the majors in each of the past eight seasons.
Over his career, he owns a 4.28 ERA, along with a 19.7% strikeout rate, an 8.9% walk rate, and a solid 48.3% ground-ball rate.
During the 2025 season, Borucki split time between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays, posting a 4.63 ERA with a 22% strikeout rate and an 11% walk rate across 35 innings.
His campaign was interrupted by a back injury that sidelined him for roughly six weeks.
Despite those numbers, Borucki impressed this spring in Chicago, throwing six scoreless innings while recording an 8-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Ryan Borucki strikes out the first batter he sees, Colt Emerson.
The decision to release him is somewhat surprising for a team in the midst of a rebuild.
However, it appears the White Sox are prioritizing opportunities for younger pitchers as they continue developing talent within their system.
Borucki now returns to free agency and will look to catch on with a club in need of bullpen depth.
