Dodger fans honour Blue Jays with incredible tribute

And it's all to do with the number 51.
This was meant to honour
Alex Vesia, a well-liked Los Angeles relief pitcher who was away from the team due to a "personal matter".
The tribute, which only added to the positive environment surrounding Toronto, was noticed by the Dodgers and their fans, who have now decided to return the favour in their own special way.

In the past week, several donations have been coming from the Los Angeles faithful to Sick Kids Pediatric hospital in Toronto.
The donations have so far totalled over $30,000. What's more, according to spokesperson Sandra Chiviotti, nearly all of the donations came with a message about the Blue Jays and about 20 donors signed up to be monthly contributors.
Dodger fan Helen Cumberbatch would like this to become something more permanent.
«I was obviously very happy that the Dodgers had won, but I've suffered a lot of sports heartbreak in my life, too, and can recognize that this was a devastating loss for the Blue Jays and their fan base. I hope this becomes a lasting tradition

Analysts made of the fact that many contributions and donations came in amounts of $51 - Vesia's number - in a nod to both the Dodger's reliever and the Blue Jays subsequent tribute.
A new friendship and tradition has been formed.
