The Barrio is making a return to the Toronto Blue Jays.

The group, which first came to prominence in the 2021 and 2022 versions of the Blue Jays, originally consisted of the Latino players that made of the roster at the time, though it was headline by Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Lourdes Gurriel Jr., and Teoscar Hernandez.
El Barrio means the The Neighbourhood in Spanish. The Blue Jays iconic home run jacket, itself a staple of those '21 and '22 seasons bore the group's full name El Gente Del Barrio or The Men of the Neighbourhood.
So how do we know it's coming back? Anthony Santander.
The new Blue Jays slugger was interviewed by Hazel Mae, who asked how it has helped knowing some people on the roster, particularly other Venezuelans (Blue Jays 2nd baseman Andres Gimenez is Santander's fellow countryman)
Like Vladdy said, the Barrio is back. We have a lot of Latinos and we have good chemistry, but it's about the whole team being together... Latinos and gringos together.

Gringo is Latin-American Spanish slang for white person.
While there is no word on if the home run jacket will be a regular feature this season, the return of El Barrio will be sure to excite some Blue Jays fans and evoke fond memories of when the Blue Jays were fun and had swagger.
Besides Santader, Guerrero, and Gimenez, other latinos on the opening day roster are likely to include Leo Jimenez, who is Dominican, and Jose Berrios, who is from Puerto Rico.
Pitchers Yimi Garcia and Yariel Rodriguez are also Latino, but as they are relievers, they won't be in the dugout full time.
