The Seattle Mariners have recalled left-handed pitcher Tayler Saucedo from Triple-A Tacoma. He and Troy Taylor were called up as corresponding roster moves for Logan Gilbert, who was placed on the 15-Day IL, and Casey Lawrence, who was DFA'd by the team.

It is the second time Saucedo has been with the Mariners this season. He was sent down to Triple-A after giving up four runs in 3.2 innings in his first four games, for an ERA of 9.82.
However, with Tacoma Saucedo has fared much better, going 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA through seven games.
Saucedo was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 21st round of the 2015 draft; the 632nd overall pick. He spent the next several years in the minors, reaching Double-A New Hampshire in 2018. While primarily a reliever, he did gain some starting experience with the Fisher Cats.
By next season, he was in Buffalo.
Like so many minor leaguers, Saucedo was affected by the 2020 season, which was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although he continued to train, he later admitted that the lack of baseball negatively affected his mental health.
He finally reached the majors in 2021, making his major league debut on June 17th, pitching a scoreless inning of relief against the New York Yankees.
He was optioned and recalled several times, ultimately appearing in 29 games for Toronto that year. 2022 started off promising for the lefty, as he made his first opening day roster. However, after his fourth appearance, he hurt his hip fielding a ground ball, and ultimately missed the rest of the season.
He was initially claimed off waivers by the New York Mets in late 2022, but was DFA'd two months later and picked up by Seattle. He has in appeared in 109 games for the M's across the last three seasons.
