The Houston Astros sign stealing scandal happened nearly a decade ago. Some, like former MLB outfielder Josh Reddick are still fighting to clear their name.
Reddick, who retired from MLB following the 2021 season, recently appeared on the BSBLR Podcast and did not hold back when asked about how the Astros' 2017 season went down.
While he stated that the Astros were "catching up to the rest of the league", and that everybody had cameras in 2017, he also claimed that he was among the players who didn't take part.
Dugout Sports reported that Reddick that himself,
Jose Altuve, and outfielder
Tony Kemp were the only players who didn't take part in the scheme.
Former Major Leaguer Josh Reddick claims Jose Altuve, Tony Kemp and himself were the only players who didn't partake in the infamous Astros trash can banging sign stealing scheme."It's crazy how much crap I get daily for it." Jose Altuve was named 2017 AL MVP; Reddick posted a career high OPS that year at .847 and it was the only year his batting avg was above .300.

While Springer, along with several other players teams, apologized for his role in the scandal, he has never directly addressed the allegations.
Reddick's words should be taken with a grain of salt however. His tone and attitude throughout the interview bordered on anger and resentment rather than remorse.
In addition to stating he received death threats in the aftermath of the scandal, he also had less than kind words to say about
Mike Fiers, the former Astros pitcher who blew the whistle on the entire thing.
If you really cared about the Astros 2017 cheating scandal, you'd already know that Jose Altuve was one of the few players (Tony Kemp, Josh Reddick) that didn't participate in the cheating, but you don't.
Reddick stated he wasn't a fan of Fiers before meeting the guy, and his dislike of him only grew when they were teammates.
No current players directly implicated
In MLB's investigation on the matter, the only player who was directly implicated was former outfielder and likely Hall Of Famer
Carlos Beltran, who was in the final year of his career.
Springer, like most other member of the Astros, were not named in the report, and has not been directly implicated.
