With a little time in between he joined the Foul Territory Podcast today, where Pillar talked about of his great experiences playing in Canadian cities during his time with the Blue Jays.
Kevin Pillar suggests that Major League Baseball should resurrect Montreal and add Vancouver
Pillar played in high-A Vancouver on his way up in the big leagues, and exhibition games in Montreal every spring until 2018.
Pillar said that both of these cities could easily support MLB teams as he believes the fans in these cities would love it and anytime he has played there, the ballpark has always been packed.
MLB needs to find a way to get more Blue Jays games played across Canada. Fans are DYING for baseball in Montreal, says @KPILLAR4
A additional Canadian team would take away some eyes from the Blue Jays but at the same time would help grown the game in Canada since there is only one team in the entire country for the moment.
Some might see these comments by Pillar as a hot take, however many Canadian fans would love to see another team back in Canada.
Montreal and Vancouver would be great places to start.
The Expos used to play in the Olympic stadium which is currently under some major renovations, which is another reason why this could actually work.
Kevin Pillar will be on Blue Jays Central with host Jamie Campbell prior to the game when the Blue Jays take on the Dodgers at 10:10 PM tonight at Dodgers Stadium for the first game of the series.
