Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher re-signs with Doosan Bears

Zach Logue is sticking to what works.
The former major league pitcher and one-time prospect for the Toronto Blue Jays has re-signed with the Doosan Bears of the KBO League for the 2026 season. He will make a guaranteed $1.1MM.
Pitcher Chris Flexen, himself an eight-year major league veteran, also returns to the club after pitching for them back in 2019.
Left-hander Zach Logue and the Doosan Bears are in agreement on a one-year, $1.1 million contract, a source tells ESPN. Logue, who spent parts of three seasons in MLB, explored returning next year before re-signing with Doosan, where he thrived in his first KBO season in 2025.
Logue performed well for the Bears in 2025, pitching 176 innings out of the rotation while having a nice and tidy 2.81 ERA. He a superb 53.8% ground ball rate, while striking out 21.6% of batters while a relatively low walk rate of 5.4%.
Logue was a ninth round draft pick by the Blue Jays back in 2017. After having success in the minor and working his way up to Triple-A, he sent to the-then Oakland Athletics in Spring of 2022 as part of a Blockbuster deal that saw Matt Chapman come to Toronto.
Logue ended up making his debut for the Athletics that April, getting into 57 games in his debut season. However, he struggled to a 6.79 ERA and was designated for assignment by the team in December.
Since then, Logue appeared in three games for the Detroit Tigers and two for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and also played in Triple-A for the Atlanta Braves.
Logue could return to the majors league next offseason
Although he ended up re-signing with the Bears, ESPN's Jeff Passan reported that Logue had considered a return to North America and the major leagues this offseason.
While he definitely had success in Asia, another good season could put him in a line for a return - and a raise - to the bigs in 2027.
