The Philadelphia Phillies had a much-publicized meeting with free agent shortstop Bo Bichette on Monday.

The Phillies have been relatively quiet since the MLB Winter Meetings, but it could all change by bringing Bichette to Philadelphia on a sizable contract.
According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the meeting between Bichette and the Phillies went very well.
Bichette/Phillies meeting is said to have gone very well fwiw. Bichette admires «first class» organization. Other pluses: roster, park, Mattinglys link, spring proximity to home. Would Phils need to deal Bohm, do lesser C than JT? Other Bo suitors: Jays, Red Sox, NYY, LAD, more

Phillies win now window makes Bichette an attractive addition for Dombrowski

The Phillies have a lot going for them. They are one of the organizations primed to pay big money for players, and head executive Dave Dombrowski is notoriously aggressive when trying to build a championship roster.
The Phillies would benefit greatly from adding Bichette, who hit .311 with an .840 OPS for the Blue Jays last season.
Whether Bichette would hit cleanup, or hit closer to the top of the order and push Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber down, his addition would unquestionably lengthen Rob Thomson's lineup.
Bichette will only be 28 years old this coming season, which would make him the rare player in the Phillies' lineup, particularly among the stars, that is on the right side of 30.
The Phillies roster is in a window where it's ready to win with Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Bryson Stott and Cristopher Sanchez.
As the Phillies try to build a sustained contender, don't underestimate the importance of Bichette's relative youth in this rather surprising pursuit and would provide a young and exciting bat for a lineup that has been begging for some added pop.
Citizens Bank Park is one of the most hitter-friendly parks in the league, and the team's spring training home in Clearwater, Fla. is close to where Bichette is from.
