Is this goodbye for Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer?
As he enters the final season of his six-year deal with the Toronto Blue Jays, four-time All-Star George Springer has put his Toronto home on the market for C$6.445 million (US$4.72 million).
Located in Lawrence Park—one of the city’s most prestigious neighbourhoods—the stone Georgian Colonial-style property was purchased by Springer and his wife, Charlise, in January 2022 for C$6.43 million, about a year after he signed his $150 million contract with the team.
Springer played a key role in helping the Blue Jays reach the World Series last year.
His pivotal three-run home run run in the seventh inning of Game 7 of the American League Championship Series gave Toronto a 4–3 lead over the Seattle Mariners and secured the pennant.
Before joining the Blue Jays, he spent seven seasons with the Houston Astros, where he won a World Series title and earned World Series MVP honours.
Springer declined to comment on listing
Currently on the injured list since mid-April after fracturing his toe on a foul ball, Springer declined to comment on the listing.
The 5,300-square-foot home, originally built in 2005, underwent a major renovation in 2019.
According to SAGE Real Estate, which listed the property, the redesign blends classic architecture with modern finishes, highlighted by extensive use of marble and stone in the kitchen, bathrooms, and around the fireplaces.

The home features five bedrooms, including a spacious primary suite that occupies its own private wing on the upper level.

The suite includes a renovated bathroom, soaring vaulted ceilings exceeding 12 feet, a fireplace, a cozy reading nook, and a custom dressing room.
“We often hear ‘bedroom retreat,’ but this one truly lives up to that description,” said listing agent Jason Fata, who represents the property alongside his colleague and wife, Krystle Fata, per Mansion Global.
In addition to the two main floors, the home offers a finished lower level with a versatile recreational space.

Currently used as a playroom and movie area, it could easily be adapted into a home gym or other functional living space, according to the property’s website.
During his six seasons in Toronto, Springer has a batting average of .261 with 121 home runs in 664 games.
