If you have a cool $15K lying around, you can now own a baseball from the World Series, courtesy of the Toronto Blue Jays and Sotheby's.

The baseball that was hit by in Game 1 for the first pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history, has been placed up for auction by the fan who caught it.
Georgetown Ontario, native Austin Jenkins is the lucky fan who caught the ball, and it just happened to be a historic home run, which commands the attention of a lot of collectors.
Sotheby's, one of the largest auction houses in the world has authenticated the ball and is now accepting bids on their website. The current bid sits at $13000.
Sotheby's is proud to offer this historic baseball connected to one of the defining moments of the 2025 World Series: Addison Barger's pinch hit grand slam in Game 1 between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Barger's slam became a signature moment of both game 1 and the Blue Jays World Series, exemplifying that they weren't the underdogs everyone made them out to be.

As with many memorabilia items placed up for auction, the baseball comes with a letter of authenticity for its previous owner.
This lot is accompanied by a letter of provenance by the consignor, who caught the ball at the game.

World Series items can fetch a ton of money

Bidding on sports items is a past-time nearly as old as baseball itself. And they can bring in big money. At one point, the most expensive baseball card in the world was the T206 Honus Wagner card that sold for $6.6MM in 2021.
