It seems like Toronto teams are taking a page out of the Blue Jays handbook.

Over the last several seasons, and especially during the Blue Jays memorable 2025 post season run, one of the most visible - and iconic - part of the team has been the home run jacket.
Given and worn every time a player hits a home run, and occasionally other instances as well, the jacket has become an integral part of the generation of Blue Jays and their fans.
Now, another Toronto-based team is using the Blue Jays as inspiration and creating their own version.
The Toronto Sceptres of the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) have unveiled their "Pretty Woman Jacket", modelled after the Jays article of clothing. Since their are no home runs in hockey and given that handing it out after every goal is impractical, the jacket is instead awarded to the game's most valuable player.
Rayyygan Kiiiiirk! 💥

Raygan Kirk gets the first Pretty Woman Jacket of the season after an outstanding performance to help us secure the win in our opening game! Inspired by the Blue Jays' home run jacket, their incredible World Series run, and the power of friendship, the Pretty Woman Jacket will be awarded to the team's Player of the Game after each win.
It made its debut following Sceptres 2-1 win in their season opener against the Minnesota Frost. In a video posted to social media, Sceptres captain Blayre Turnbull revealed the team's bedazzled coat and awarded to the game's MVP and inaugural wearer, Sceptres goaltender Raygan Kirk.

Blue Jays have inspired a nation, local area sports teams

The Blue Jays 2025 run to the World Series inspired not only a nation of fans, but also several local area sports teams. While the Sceptres are the only ones to unveil a jacket, many other teams have tried to emulate the Blue Jays' style and clubhouse culture.
2026 could be an interesting year for Toronto sports.
