Although the majority of Blue Jays fans have a negative opinion of the league's Apple TV broadcasts, one thing that is exciting is players and officials being mic'd up. During Friday's night contest between the Jays and Orioles, one particular hot mic moment has already become the stuff of legend.

It happened in the first inning while the Blue Jays were batting. Second baseman Andres Gimenez was batting and the count was 2-2. Gimenez took a half-swing on a curveball in the dirt from pitcher Charlie Morton. While home plate umpire Will Little ruled that it Gimenez swung, the Blue Jays second baseman argued that the ball grazed his foot.
Little disagreed and John Schneider came out of the dugout to voice his disagreement with Little's disagreement.
Cue the hot mics.
«He's saying the ball hit him. «But we've got a swing, so we've got a dead ball.» - Umpire Will Little

«How the f-k are you gonna call that?» - John Schneider
Things calmed down and level-heads prevailed after that. Neither Schneider nor Gimenez was ejected and the game continued on. The Blue Jays eventually won 8-2 after a five run fourth inning.
A similar thing happened last season after George Springer got ejected after claiming he was hit by a pitch. The replay upheld the non-call on the field and Springer was tossed after prolonged arguing. Schneider was also heated in that exchange.
Mics on players and personnel definitely add a whole new layer to game play.
