While Bautista has been retired for quite some time now, he still follows the Blue Jays quite closely as he recently spoke in an interview about how good Addison Barger is this season.
Jose Bautista helps players with their hitting in Dunedin
This past week, Bautista stopped by in Dunedin at the Blue Jays complex to help out their prospects with hitting as the team's temporary hitting coach.
Six-time MLB All-Star and Blue Jays legend Jose Bautista stopped by Dunedin earlier this week to help out in the cages.
There are very few players that can help out young players more when it comes to hitting than Jose Bautista as he was one of the best sluggers in the MLB during his era.
Bautista spent 10 years with the Blue Jays and his best season came back in 2010 when he finished with an unbelievable 54 homeruns, 124 RBIs, .260 batting average and .378 on base percentage.
Never forget when Jose Bautista drove home a season-high and Blue Jays franchise record 54 home runs in 2010 His previous best was 16. 🤯
Bringing in former players to help out with prospects seems to be helping the Blue Jays as they have taking some big steps forward when it comes to their farm system this season.
The Blue Jays farm system started off the season at the bottom but has since jumped quite a bit going from 27th to 20th, moving up 7 spots at the mid season rankings.
Now that Bautista has been bit by the coaching bug, it will be interesting to see if he would be willing to take on a more permanent role.
