Kevin Gausman given odds, listed among potential candidates for 2025 Cy Young Award

Well this is encouraging Blue Jays fans.
Ace pitcher Kevin Gausman has been given odds to win the Cy Young Award by sports betting site FanDuel. Gausman is listed at +2500. Reigning champ Tarik Skubal leads with +400.
This doesn't necessarily mean that Gausman is FanDuel's favourite, but the fact that he was given odds means that bookmakers believe he has a realistic shot at winning, or at the very least getting some votes at season's end.
If he pitches like he did in 2024, Jose Berrios could also receive some consideration, though he wasn't given odds by FanDuel.
That season followed a third place finish in '22 by Alek Manoah, a Cy Young Award for Robbie Ray in 2021, and a third place finish by Hyun-jin Ryu in 2020.
Although he went 14-11 with a 3.83 ERA last year, 2024 was considered a down year for the Blue Jays ace.
If the Blue Jays expect to contend in 2025, they will need strong rebound seasons from both Gausman and fellow pitcher Chris Bassitt, as well as Bo Bichette.
