Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Jose Berrios took another step in his recovery from a stress fracture in his right elbow on Wednesday night.

Toronto Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios threw four scoreless innings in his second rehab start for Single-A Dunedin at TD Ballpark.
Berríos struck out the side in the first inning against the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels, an affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, and finished with five punchouts.

His final line also included three hits and zero walks as he fired 55 pitches with 37 of them for strikes.
In his second rehab start for Dunedin #BlueJays, Jose Berrios threw 4 shutout innings on 55 pitches: 4IP 3H 0ER 5K 0BB. He averaged 93.5 mph on his fastball, topped at 94.6. Fairly encouraging outing for Berríos, who should start moving up the minors on this assignment soon.

Berrios' had much better fastball command in second rehab outing

Berríos faced 14 hitters in his start on Wednesday, a much improved performance from his first outing for the Single-A Blue Jays, where he allowed five runs on five hits over 2.2 innings, with three strikeouts and a walk.
The 31-year-old is currently on the 15-day IL with a stress fracture in his right elbow and has not appeared in a major league game since Sept. 24, when he threw two innings out of the bullpen against the Boston Red Sox.
After that outing, he was placed on the injured list with elbow inflammation and did not pitch again in 2025.
Berrios finished last season with a 9-5 record with a 4.17 ERA, 138 strikeouts and 56 walks.
Overall, Berrios has a 108-82 career record with a 4.08 ERA over 275 career games with the Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins.
