The Los Angeles Angels are learning what the Toronto Blue Jays already knew about Jordan Romano.
Tell me if you haven't heard this story before...
Jordan Romano was charged with both the loss and a blown save against the New York Yankees on Monday night after surrendering three runs on three hits and two walks, without recording a single out.
He entered the ninth inning holding a two-run lead but immediately ran into trouble.
A leadoff single by Jazz Chisholm Jr. set the tone, followed by a game-tying two-run blast from Trent Grisham.

From there, things quickly fell apart. Romano allowed two more baserunners before a wild slider skipped past the catcher, bringing in the winning run.
The Yankees win on a walk-off wild pitch!
Across five innings, he now carries a 5.40 ERA with a 7:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Romano looking to bounce back from a couple of difficult seasons in Philadelphia
The 32-year-old from Markham, Ontario is coming off back-to-back difficult seasons, a stark contrast to his earlier success as a two-time All-Star closer with Toronto.
In 2025, Romano posted an 8.23 ERA over 42.2 innings with the Philadelphia Phillies, recording 47 strikeouts and 17 walks before his season ended early due to inflammation in his right middle finger.
The hard-throwing right-hander signed a one-year, $8.5 million deal with Philadelphia last offseason after spending his first six MLB seasons with the Blue Jays.
From 2021 to 2023, he ranked fourth among relievers in saves, but his final year in Toronto was derailed by persistent elbow issues.
He made just 15 appearances in 2024 before being non-tendered that offseason.
Romano is just one of several former Blue Jays pitchers the Angels have brought in over the past two years.
That list also includes Yusei Kikuchi, Alek Manoah, Nick Sandlin, Kirby Yates, Shaun Anderson, and Taylor Saucedo.
