Dear Major League Baseball,
I know it looks like Toronto isn't a desirable location right now. The team is losing, the futures of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette are uncertain, and the pitching staff is getting older. Yet this city, nay, this country has so much to offer.
The city of Toronto itself. It's like New York, but cleaner. And the people are nicer. Even when it comes to sports.
If the big cities aren't your vibes, you could always live in Hamilton, cheaper for a kid from the minor leagues trying to make it big. There is a place for the rich millionaires too.
And then the sites. Just steps from Rogers Centre we've got the CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium , the Railway museum, Convention Centre, and the Rec Room. Not to mention all the great bars and pubs like the Loose Moose, Elephant & Castle, and even your nerdy places like Storm Crow Manor and Snakes and Lattes.
Feeling like you need a break from the rough and tumble life? Toronto Island is a short ferry ride away, where you can experience a calm amongst the storm. there's even a monument to Babe Ruth there. There's also Scarborough Bluffs and, further westward, the Bruce Trail. And all the Provincial Parks.
And of course Niagara Falls is fun for the whole family. They even have arcades and a bird zoo! Who doesn't love that?
And this is just the province of Ontario, where our beloved Blue Jays play. You can be a part of it too. You might even see one in the wild.
Are you worried about higher taxes? Well don't be. Two of our former players - Josh Donaldson and Russell Martin - just won a lawsuit against the revenue agency about this very issue.
Also, by the time you come here, we will have a different, more tax-friendly government.
So really, Anthony Santander, you have nothing to lose by giving us a try.
