Mike Trout knows a thing or two about baseball. The Angels new right fielder is entering is 15th season a major leaguer, has 11 All-Star appearances, nine silver sluggers, and three MVP Awards.

And while Trout is no longer the player he once was, he is still a future first round Hall of Famer whose number 27 will most certainly be retired by the Angels.
But before Trout, there was a Hall of Famer who 27 for the Halos: Vladimir Guerrero, who played six seasons in Los Angeles, and ended up going into the hall with an Angels cap depicted on his plaque.
So what does this have to do with anything?
In a recent interview with MLB reporter Mike Rodriguez, Trout was asked specifically about his favourite Dominican ballplayers. His answer was simple, five words about a certain first baseman...
"I love watching Vladdy play."

While Trout was quick to mention that there are a lot of good Dominicans in the league, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was the only one mentioned by name.
So there you have it. One of the All-time greats has spoken. Trout also name dropped the Blue Jays' Max Scherzer as one of the toughest pitchers he has ever faced.
Mentioned alongside names like Mookie Betts, Aaron Judge, and Bryce Harper, Vlad has solidified himself as a top 10 player. Among active right-handed hitters, Guerrero's career 137 OPS+ trails only Trout, Judge, Ronald Acuna, Paul Goldschmidt and Betts.
No word yet on how Vladdy feels about the Milville Meteor, though I'm sure it's one of mutual respect.
