MLB Network's Sean Casey predicts Toronto Blue Jays free agent Bo Bichette will sign elsewhere this offseason.

Former big-leaguer and current MLB Network analyst Sean Casey was asked on the MLB Tonight segment if he thought the Blue Jays would retain the services of free agent Bo Bichette or if he would end up signing elsewhere.
The panel pointed out that Boston has already shown interest in Bo, and that there is a link between Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Craig Breslow and Bichette who were former teammates.
"I think it's going to be go for Bo Bichette, I really do. There is a lot of teams interested in him, a lot of teams are interested in the way he can swing the bat. He has a lot of versatility defensively, he can play short, second or play third base. This guy is an absolute run producer, when you look back at this year he hit .311, 63 extra base hits, driving in 94 runs which was huge, and an .841 OPS. This guy can flat out hit, he is going to be a game changer in any lineup and I think a lot of teams will go after him, the Red Sox, the Tigers, the Phillies could be in play here too. I think a lot of teams saw what Bo Bichette did this year. I think it's a go for Bo Bichette."

Despite Casey's analysis most MLB insiders believe the Blue Jays are still the favorites to re-sign Bichette

Drafted by Toronto in 2016, Bichette has been a Blue Jay his entire professional career.
He has spent that time developing into the club's everyday shortstop while growing alongside franchise cornerstone Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and current manager John Schneider.
A two-time All-Star (2021, 2023), Bichette led MLB in hits in both 2021 (191) and 2022 (189).
Before his injury in 2025, he was once again considered one of the best hitters in baseball.
Even with missed time due to a knee sprain, he finished the regular season hitting .311 with 181 hits, 44 doubles, 94 RBIs, 18 home runs and an OPS of .841.
The Blue Jays remain the favorite to re-sign Bichette, however the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to monitor Bichette's free agency very closely.
Toronto will need to act quickly to secure a long-term deal and avoid a bidding war.
