This time Straw took a unique approach to recruiting his former Astros teammate Kyle Tucker in free agency.
After Tucker and his wife announced that they were expecting their first child in an Instagram post, Straw commented for the left-handed slugger to join the Blue Jays and offered to help babysit.

Straw and Tucker were previously teammates on the Houston Astros from 2018 through the start of the 2021 season. Tucker was also a groomsman at Straw's wedding.
Tucker will have several interested suitors in free agency, as he's coming off an impressive 2025 campaign with the Chicago Cubs.
He hit .266 with 22 home runs, 25 doubles and 73 RBI in 136 games. Tucker also racked up 25 stolen bases while posting an .841 OPS.
