Pop combined for five big league appearances in 2025 for the Seattle Mariners and New York Mets
The Phillies have signed RHP Zach Pop to an MLB contract per the team. Pop only threw 6.2 innings in 2025. Threw 48.1 innings in 2024 to the tune of a 5.59 ERA.
A seventh-round pick of the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft out of Kentucky by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Pop made his major league debut in 2021 for the Miami Marlins.
He was dealt to the Toronto Blue Jays alongside Anthony Bass ahead of the 2022 trade deadline. He was released by the Blue Jays this past April.
In 163 appearances over five seasons for the Mets, Mariners, Blue Jays and Marlins, Pop is 8-6 with a 4.88 earned run average and WHIP of 1.361 over 162.1 innings pitched. He's struck out 126 batters and walked 55.
Zach Pop has a career GB% of 55. Velocity looks to be trending up. 3 years of control if they want to keep him. Even though it is a «major league deal» I'm sure it's the league minimum and they can cut him without much consequence. His sinker is good, assume they have plans w him
The 29-year-old is out of minor-league options. He'll compete for a bullpen spot come spring training.
