Romano was tasked with keeping the game tied at 1-1 in the ninth inning, Guerrero hit a one-out single and stole second.
After Addison Barger struck out, Kirk drove a ball off the top of the wall in right-center field that allowed Guerrero to trot home.
Jordan Romano has been shaky since retaking the closer's job from Jose Alvarado, recording a 7.11 ERA, 1.89 WHIP and 13:5 K:BB over his last 6.1 innings. Romano has gone 4-for-4 on save chances during this span.
While it's unwise to panic too much, this Phillies team does present a very clear weakness and that's the the bullpen.
I couldn't care less about whatever scoreless streak Jordan Romano had at one point, the guy is Craig Kimbrel 2.0. Just absolutely awful to watch.
These things happen. It's pretty much impossible for fans to keep a calm head for an entire 162-game regular season, but generally it's best to avoid sweeping takeaways and definitive proclamations of doom in early June.
But, we are talking about Philly fans, so all that is out the window, because you just know the Romano takes will be flying tonight, especially with Jeff Hoffman picking up the W on the other side.
"Wow. Former Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano gets the loss for the Phillies and former Phillies reliever Jeff Hoffman gets the win for Toronto. Phillies lose on a walkoff tonight."
Phillies fans are unraveling on social media after a new Jordan Romano disaster
I really hate Jordan Romano. Hoffman would never. #Phillies
Back to your regularly scheduled Jordan Romano.
Some Philly fans did not hold back at all. Yikes.
Philly fans have always been brutal whether it be the Flyers, Eagles or Phillies they are some of the worst fans out there.
Hopefully Jordan Romano gets his rhythm back soon, nobody deserves this kind of treatment. Online or otherwise.
The victory was the sixth in seven games for the Blue Jays (32-29), who got six innings of one-run ball from Jose Berrios.
The series finale pits two starters who have each earned five wins. In Chris Bassitt, the Jays are hoping their veteran right-hander bounces back from a poor outing against the Athletics.
Even though Bassitt was credited with the win, he did give up five runs in five innings His Philly counterpart, lefty Jesus Luzardo, was simply horrible in giving up 12 runs in 3.1 innings against Milwaukee in his most recent start.
