The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Friday that the Jays Care 50/50 raffle tickets will now be available to Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario residents.

Albertan and New Brunswick residents, can now purchase raffle tickets to support a foundation connected to Canada's only Major League Baseball team.
Before the tickets were only available to Ontario and Nova Scotia Blue Jays fans.
The initiative helps fund youth baseball programs and supports the construction and refurbishment of community baseball diamonds.
The 50/50 raffle, run by the Jays Care Foundation, takes place during games played by the Toronto Blue Jays.

Fans in Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick are eligible to purchase 50/50 tickets

Funds raised from ticket sales in Alberta-after prizes and operating expenses are paid-will be directed back into the foundation's projects and programs within the province.
Andrew Boitchenko, Alberta's Minister of Tourism and Sport, said sports play a key role in strengthening communities.
«Sports bring people together, help children and youth build confidence, and open doors to opportunities that extend far beyond the baseball diamond,» Boitchenko said in a media release issued Friday by the provincial government.
Over the past decade, the Jays Care Foundation has invested more than $1.2 million into building and upgrading baseball diamonds across Alberta.
The work has been done in partnership with 14 community organizations, 12 Indigenous communities, and 139 schools.
The foundation's programs aim to give young people facing barriers the chance to play baseball while staying active, forming friendships, and becoming more involved in their communities.
This season, fans in four provinces, Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick can purchase Jays Care 50/50 tickets.
Tickets are now available for the first 50/50 jackpot of the season.
