In an attempt to get back to their first World Series in 30+ years, the Toronto Blue Jays are turning to their ace.
Kevin Gausman will start Game 1 against the Seattle Mariners Sunday night at Rogers Centre.
Gausman also started game 1 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees. He was brilliant in that outing, going 5.2 innings while striking out three and giving up just one run.

Both Gausman and Trey Yesavage were seen in the bullpen at various points during Toronto's masterful bullpen day that was Game 4 on Wednesday. However, neither were used, freeing them both up to start in the early games of this series.
The Mariners, who used three members of their rotation in their epic 15 inning, walk-off win against the Detroit Tigers, have yet to announce a starter.
Gausman has faced the Mariners once this season. In that appearance back in May, he picked up the win, allowing three runs in 5.1 innings.
Over his career, he is 2-4 with a 2.94 ERA against Seattle.
Rest of rotation has not yet announced
While the Blue Jays have yet to announce who will follow Gausman, rookie Yesavage is a good bet to start Game 2 following his masterful outing against the Yankees in which threw 5.1 no-hit innings and struck out 11.
While Shane Bieber started game 3 of the ALDS, it is not a given that he does same against Seattle, especially since Toronto could add one or both of Chris Bassitt and Max Scherzer.
First pitch is at 8:03 PM ET
