UFC mixed martial artist and BMF champ Max Holloway received a gift from the Toronto Blue Jays and Bo Bichette ahead of his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 318. Bo had some parting words for the fighter.
Max Holloway received a special gift from the Blue Jays ahead of his fight against Dustin Poirier at #UFC318 💪
When asked how Bichette thought the fight would go he said:
"Obviously they are two great fighters, but I'm rooting for Max. I would love to see Max win so hopefully he gets another shot at maybe Topuria or something like that, so I'm rooting for Max."
Max Holloway was very excited at Bo's response saying "HELL YA! my guy! My Toronto people! Tenth Island! supporting the boy!"
Last April, Holloway turned in one of the best performances of his career at UFC 300, claiming the BMF Title from Justin Gaethje in a dominant showing punctuated by a signature call to meet in the centre and what followed was one of the most iconic knockouts in UFC history.
Tonight's fight versus Dustin Poirier is the third and final fight between the two in which Holloway lost the two previous fights.
Obviously Holloway is looking to redeem himself against Poirier at UFC 318
Despite his loss to Ilia Topuria last year, Holloway is still very much in the thick of the chase in the 155-pound ranks.
Now, Topuria may not be interested in running it back with someone he knocked out less than a year ago, and that might be something Holloway has to accept and roll with, but for the time being, all he can do is handle business at UFC 318 and put himself in a position to force the new champion's hand.
