Toronto Blue Jays designate popular left-handed pitcher for assignment

The Toronto Blue Jays made a couple of roster moves ahead of the series with Toronto Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays announced Monday that left-handed reliever Ryan Borucki has been designated for assignment.
His spot on the roster will go to top prospect Try Yesavage, whose previously reported promotion to the major league roster is now official.

Borucki, 31, was caught in a numbers game with Yesavage needing a spot on the 40-man roster.

In four games during his second stint with the Blue Jays this season, the lefty has blanked opponents through 4.1 innings, striking out five while allowing three hits and four walks.
Yesavage is set to make his debut later Monday when he starts against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The 2024 first-round pick has dominated at four minor-league levels in his first professional season, striking out 160 opponents over just 98 innings.
