While there is no question the skill that Kazuma Okamoto brings, his signing comes with some complications.

Earlier today, it was announced that the Toronto Blue Jays signed the three-time Gold Glove winner and six-time NPB All-Star to a four year deal While his presence will no doubt enhance an already great team, it also affects some other, beloved members of the Blue Jays.
Blue Jays, 1B/3B Kazuma Okamoto reportedly agree to deal, per multiple reports including @MLBNetwork insider @JonHeyman.
Okamoto is primarily plays third base, a position that was filled by Ernie Clement and Addison Barger last year. With the Japanese superstar now seemingly set to occupy the hot corner on an everyday basis, it would stand to reason that Barger becomes an everyday outfielder, while Clement shifts to second base with Andres Gimenez sliding over to shortstop.
However, there is still the matter of Bo Bichette and/or Kyle Tucker Either one of them signing would further complicate the picture. If Bichette re-signs, Clement becomes a super utility player, filling in for either Okamoto or Gimenez when they need a day off.
Kazuma Okamoto, 29, is a seasoned JPL veteran with a slick glove, a good eye at the plate & plenty of pop. Now should Bichette re-sign, they, along with Guerrero Jr., Gimenez & Clement, give Blue Jays a tremendous infield. 👍
If Toronto lands Tucker, it adds another option to an already crowded outfield picture and likely spells the end for several fan favourites.
Okamoto can also play first and has some experience in the outfield, which allows the Blue Jays a certain, if limited amount of creativity.

Bo Bichette will be the key

After the signing of Okamoto was announced, many Blue Jays fans feared that this spelled the end for Bichette.
The long-time shortstop is still the key factor in all of this, and the Blue Jays are unlikely to solve their outfield picture until the Bo situation is resolved.
These things have a tendency to work themselves out, but it may require some patience on the part of Blue Jays Nation.
