The Toronto Blue Jays won't be the only ones undergoing changes this year.
Sportsnet, the Toronto Blue Jays official broadcast partner, is also seeing some personnel move about and move on.
One such person in the latter category is Julia Kreuz, who, in a letter posted ocial media late Tuesday evening, announced who her decision to move away from baseball commentary.
👋🏽
Keegan Matheson, Sportsnet colleagues, show love and support.
While the decision may come as a surprise - Kreuz was a well-liked and well-respected member of the Blue Jays, baseball, and Sportsnet communities, it's also an understandable one.
The decision to step away didn't come from a place of disagreement or animosity, rather, Kreuz simply had a desire to try something else, a very common urge is today's society and economy.
Just last year, she, along with Blake Murphy, was announced as the host of a new Blue Jays recap show.
And yet, Kreuz always felt yearnings for elsewhere. And, as she noted in her letter, all good things must end.
Several Sportsnet personalities were effusive in their support and praise of Kreuz, including her co-host Murphy.
However, perhaps there was none more sincere than Keegan Matheson, who has developed a close bond with Kreuz over the years.
I've called @juliackreuz my colleague, my roommate and my best friend. Every time, I'm the lucky one. We can tell you how much eight Guinness and three Prosecco cost just about anywhere. She's doing this on her terms and I'm proud of her. Always have been, always will be.
Congrats Julia. Blue Jays Central wishes you well in future endeavors.
