The Blue Jays are changing things up in their bullpen ahead of their series against the Twins.
Left-handed reliever Justin Bruihl has been recalled from triple-A Buffalo and will be active for Monday's game against the Twins, the team announced ahead of the outing.
In a corresponding move, righty Paxton Schultz was optioned to triple-A a day after being called up for the series finale against the Miami Marlins Sunday.
Bruihl, 28, has made 11 appearances in relief this season for the Blue Jays, pitching 8.1 innings with a 6.11 ERA and 11 strikeouts.
He last suited up for the Blue Jays on July 28 against the Baltimore Orioles, pitching one inning with one earned run off two hits and a walk.
Schultz, meanwhile, made his major-league debut with the Blue Jays this season and has made 13 appearances, pitching to a 4.38 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 24.2 innings.
The 27-year-old pitched one inning with one strikeout in Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Miami Marlins.
