The 31-year-old was released by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Aug. 18 after being designated for assignment three days earlier.
He has played with the Pirates for the last three seasons after starting his career with the Blue Jays.
In one appearance with Buffalo, Borucki allowed one hit and a walk through 1.2 innings.
