Robertson, who grew up in Missouri, was available for today's series finale in St. Louis against the Cardinals.
Robertson, 27, has crushed the ball to the tune of a .288/.410/.582 slash line.
He has 12 home runs in just 188 plate appearances, he's walking a whopping 17.0% of the time, and he's striking out less than he has since 2019 with a 23.9% clip.
Taken together, it leaves him with a 159 wRC+ that's good for fourth in the International League this year.
Robertson isn't considered much of a prospect, as he isn't even ranked on MLB.com's Top 30 Blue Jays prospects list.
Regardless of a player's prospect status, however, Robertson's numbers are the type that will get you attention from the big league club.
Lukes was a late scratch in the Blue Jays' 10-9 win in St. Louis on Tuesday in what was then listed as neck discomfort.
The 30-year-old was apparently hurt when he collided with Toronto second baseman Ernie Clement in the sixth inning of the Blue Jays' 6-3 loss to the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.
The move to the IL comes after Lukes was already scratched from Toronto's lineup on Tuesday due to neck discomfort.
Lukes is hitting .267 through 49 games this season with a .360 on-base percentage and .751 OPS to go with 21 RBIs and four home runs.
He last played in the Blue Jays' 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Monday, going hitless in his two plate appearances, one of which ended in a walk.
Toronto enters Wednesday's contest as winners of 12 of its last 15 and amid a two-game win streak.
The Blue Jays are now four games back of the New York Yankees for top spot in the AL East with a 37-30 record.
Will the Blue Jays have Will Robertson make his MLB debut today now that Nathan Lukes is out?
