The Toronto Blue Jays shared encouraging injury updates on Trey Yesavage, Shane Bieber, José Berríos, and Yimi García following their 3–2 Opening Day walk off against the Athletics.

Overall, the club appears to be moving in a positive direction with its injured pitchers. Manager John Schneider spoke with reporters and provided the latest on all four arms.
Berrios and Garcia both threw earlier in the day at the Player Development Complex.
Berrios completed a 25-pitch session, while García threw 22 pitches.
Both pitchers reportedly felt good afterward, and the team plans to reassess them tomorrow to check for any lingering effects before determining next steps.
Jose Berrios and Yimi Garcia both threw side sessions on Friday at Blue Jays complex in Dunedin. Berrios threw 25 pitches; Garcia threw 22. Both reported feeling good after.
Meanwhile, Yesavage and Bieber are currently with the team in Toronto for the weekend and are expected to return to Florida sometime next week.
Both pitchers are scheduled to throw early next week, with their progression depending on how those sessions go.
Schneider said Shane Bieber will be off a mound next week, with Trey Yesavage’s next outing early next week, Schneider added. Bieber and Yesavage are in Toronto through the weekend.

Yesavage is likely to appear in a minor league game, while Bieber will continue building up on the mound as part of his ramp-up process.

At this stage, all four pitchers are still in the early phases of their recovery. García may be slightly ahead, given that his bullpen role typically requires less buildup in pitch count.
Schneider emphasized that the situation remains a “wait-and-see” approach, particularly with Berríos and García, as the team monitors how they respond following their recent outings.
With Bieber, Berríos, and Yesavage all currently on the injured list, the Blue Jays opened the season with a rotation featuring Kevin Gausman, Dylan Cease, Eric Lauer, Max Scherzer, and Cody Ponce.
Once the injured pitchers return, Toronto is expected to face some difficult decisions regarding its rotation, with the possibility of one or more arms shifting to the bullpen.
