Toronto Blue Jays fans will have to wait a little longer to see their team back in action.
The Blue Jays pushed their home and season opener against the
Athletics back one day to Friday, March 27, at 7:07 p.m. ET / 4:07 p.m. PT, the team announced on Thursday.
The game was originally scheduled for the afternoon of March 26.
Home Opener date has changed but start times remain the same as 2025 season
It means the Blue Jays and A's will be the last teams in MLB to kick off the 2026 season, with the other 28 teams slated to debut on either the Wednesday or Thursday.
The Blue Jays also announced that game times would be unchanged from last season - weekday nights at 7:07 p.m. ET, Saturdays at 3:07 p.m. ET and Sundays at 1:37 p.m. ET.
Eight weekday afternoon games are exceptions, with six set for 3:07 p.m. ET starts and two school-day games scheduled for 1:07 p.m. ET.
Toronto opens the season with six straight home games (three against the Athletics, three against the Colorado Rockies) before hitting the road for the first time in a weekend series against the Chicago White Sox.
The Blue Jays' spring-training schedule begins Feb. 21 against the Philadelphia Phillies.
