Francis (shoulder) experienced shoulder discomfort while rehabbing and will be shut down for the foreseeable future, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.
Bowden Francis (shoulder) will be shut down from throwing for a bit after feeling discomfort as he built back up.
He suffered a setback while building back up at the Blue Jays' player development complex and won't throw for at least a week and a half.
The hitch in his recovery likely means he won't be back until mid-August at the earliest.
Bowden Francis experienced shoulder discomfort recently while building back up at Blue Jays player development complex. Francis will be shut down for at least 10 days to see if the symptoms calm down.
In 14 starts this year, Francis owns a 2-8 record with a 6.05 earned-run average. His 19 home runs allowed are tied for most in the American League, and he ranks third in the AL in batters hit by a pitch (6).
Despite those struggles, he's solid depth for the organization.
