As far as bullpen X-factors go, look no further than left-hander Mason Fluharty.
It's already been a remarkable breakout campaign from the 24-year-old rookie, who, despite being optioned back to triple-A on two separate occasions during the regular season, has performed under extreme duress in 2025.
Blue Jays reliever Mason Fluharty was a fifth-round pick in 2022, made his big league debut this season and has become the top left-handed option in the Blue Jays bullpen.
Lefties hit .182 against him in the regular season, and he's pitched seven times this postseason. He's struck out seven, walked two and stranded six of seven inherited runners in the playoffs.
He is a left-on left specialist with nasty stuff, who also fares well against righties.
HIS NAME IS MASON FLUHARTY 😤 He strikes out Shohei Ohtani and gets Mookie Betts to ground out to close out the Dodgers 💪
Fluharty sends message to teammates and Blue Jays fans
A year I'll never forget! What a ride it's been! Grateful for the group of guys I got to play with this year! The most selfless, talented and gritty group I've ever been apart of. And thank you Toronto for the endless support throughout this long season! Blessed is an understatement! Thank you Jesus for this year of brotherhood, health and endless memories!
With 10 postseason appearances so far in 2025, Fluharty has recorded nine strikeouts and two walks, with eight hits and four runs allowed in six innings pitched.
Mason Fluharty leaves them loaded with a HUGE strikeout 😤
In his final World Series appearance, he recorded one strikeout with zero walks and allowed zero hits or runs in 0.2 innings.
Can't wait to see what 2026 brings for the left-hander.
