It's been a busy couple of days for the Toronto Blue Jays.

After announcing that they had signed 27 international players as well as inviting 18 more players to Spring Training, Canada's team has solidified their Triple-A pitching depth.
They have signed former Red Sox left-handed pitcher Brendan Cellucci to a minor league deal.
The signing has an official date of January 19th, though it wasn't posted to the team's official transaction log until earlier today.
Former Red Sox minor league LHP Brendan Cellucci signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays on January 19, per the logs.
Up until July, Cellucci was a member of the Boston Red Sox organization, who drafted him out of Tulane University in the 12th round of the 2019 amateur draft.
After some prolonged struggles however, Cellucci was released by Triple-A Worcester in July. He ended up with the York Revolution of the Atlantic league and spent the winter with Criollos de Caguas in Puerto Rico before being scooped up by Toronto.
At 27, Cellucci has yet to break into the big leagues and while he will certainly get a look at Spring Training, it's a near certainty that he will open the season in Triple-
a Buffalo.
Looking at his numbers, it's easy to see why.

Blue Jays hope to overhaul mechanics, fix control issues

Even though his career minor league stats aren't anything to write home about, the Jays clearly feel there is unlocked potential in Cellucci's left arm.
If pitching coach Pete Walker and the Blue Jays pitching development team - which is renowned and widely respected throughout the league - can overhaul the lefty's mechanics and fix his control issues, he could find his onto the roster by summer.
He will be an interesting one to watch.
Although he has struck out 350 batters across 259 career innings pitching for Boston's various farm teams, he has also walked 184, thrown 41 wild pitches, and has an ERA of 5.00. Clearly, control has always been an issue.
