The Toronto Blue Jays have signed former Seattle Mariners right-hander Jesse Hahn.
The Toronto Blue Jays have added veteran right-hander Jesse Hahn to the organization on a minor league contract, the club announced.
The agreement also includes an invitation to major league Spring Training.
OFFICIAL: We’ve signed RHP Jesse Hahn to a Minor League deal with an invite to #SpringTraining.
Hahn, 36, hasn’t held a steady role in the majors since 2020
Shoulder issues sidelined Hahn for the entire 2022 and 2023 seasons, and he spent 2024 in the minors while working his way back.
In 2025, the Seattle Mariners twice selected his contract as a short-term depth option.
During his first call-up, Hahn made two appearances before being designated for assignment and clearing waivers.
He later rejoined the organization on a new minor league deal and was selected again, only to be DFA’d after one outing.
Hahn’s five innings with Seattle this season marked his first major league action since a brief three-inning stint with the Kansas City Royals in 2021.
Injuries have frequently interrupted his career, but he has continued to battle back and remain on the fringes of the big leagues.
Across his limited time with Seattle in 2025, Hahn surrendered three runs in five innings.
He also delivered five scoreless frames with Triple-A Tacoma, showing flashes of effectiveness.
FA Jesse Hahn set the tone for pro day yesterday! Some of the nastiest shapes you’ll find 🤢81mph sweepers with -24”+ HB and 3000+ spin should be illegal…Not to mention -6” IVB on the changeup. Jesse has a very deep arsenal with a newly added short slider and gained confidence in the changeup to complement his other breaking balls and sinker. Don’t expect him to be a free agent for long.
By bringing Hahn aboard on a minor league pact, Toronto is taking a low-risk look at a veteran arm with experience and a career 4.24 ERA at the MLB level, hopeful that a fresh opportunity could help him carve out a role.
